The free forum to interactively host and solve original situation puzzles.

Situation puzzles test your thinking skills 'outside the box'. Unlike most puzzles, situation puzzles are inexact puzzles. In a sense, they are a hybrid between puzzles and storytelling.

Some basic clues to seemingly strange or even bizarre situations are given, and your job is to reconstruct the story the host has in mind, by asking the host questions that can be answered by yes, no, or irrelevant.

Critical reading, logical thinking, as well as lateral thinking may all be required to solve a situation puzzle.

The term lateral thinking was coined by Edward de Bono to denote a creative problem-solving style that involves looking at the given situation from unexpected angles. Lateral thinking involves taking a step back, examining your assumptions (which can often get in the way of a solution) and trying different approaches.
"The most basic principle of lateral thinking is that
any particular way of looking at things
is only one from among many other possible ways."

Edward de Bono
